How to get the most out of Christ and the Americas, Part One with Christopher Martin, Ph.D.:Download the pre-course materials (e.g., syllabus) found at the end of the course introduction, but before the weekly materials.
Review the week's PowerPoint slides before attending the class meeting.
Have a notebook ready and available for class notes during each class meeting.
Attend the week's meeting.
Do the assignments, quizzes, and any extra work assigned for that week.
Repeat the above for each week.
Once the course is completed to the parent's and professor’s satisfaction, there is a Certificate of Completion at the end to be filled in for your records.
Special Notes: Includes an optional writing component.

Prerequisite: None, however, Christ and the Americas, Part One is recommended.
Suggested Grade Level: 9th to 12th grade. Advanced middle school students are welcome (assignments can be adjusted for younger students)
Suggested Credit: One full semester of American History

Fee: For all 14 classes: $237 if you register on or before November 15, $257 if you register after Nov. 15. (Registration closes one week before the first day of class. After that date, registrations are not guaranteed. There is a $20 surcharge for late enrollments after the course is closed.)
Course Description: Using Anne Carroll's Christ and the Americas as a framework and guide for the second part of a year-long study, this course roughly traces American History from the 1840s-1970s. This includes: the Civil War, two World Wars, and the Civil Rights movement.

Therefore, students will be guided through the process of writing a short (3-5 page, double-spaced) review of a book of their choice relevant to the subject matter.
NOTE: Middle School students taking this course may instead write a 1-2 page book report

Christopher Martin
Dr. Martin teaches history and theology for Homeschool Connections, and serves as an Adjunct Professor of History at both Southern New Hampshire University and Antelope Valley College. He holds BA degrees in History and Theology from Christendom College (2007); an MA in History from National University (2012); and a Ph.D. in History from CGU (2018). Dr. Martin's research interests include the Lost Cause, the Federalists & Anti-Federalists, and the Impact of Wars and Depressions Upon the American Social Mind. He lives in California, with his wife and three sons.
