Summary

Join us for Part Two to prepare for future academic studies in a fun way and find the joy in learning something new!

Course description: This course continues where GS Intermediate Latin, Part One ended. Students will develop Latin speaking and reading skills, especially immersion reading, wherein what they know of the language is used to isolate and figure out what they don’t know. At the end of the semester, they will have a creative composition project, which will engage their ability to output Latin as well as input it. This course will prepare students for beginning middle school Latin with any Latin curriculum.

Instructor: Olivia Jones

Once per semester, students will submit a creative project.

About Olivia Jones

Mrs. Olivia Jones graduated from Wyoming Catholic College where she spent four years studying Latin through immersion speaking and reading. She also participated and lead various weeklong Latin immersion camping trips in Utah and Wyoming, in which only Latin was spoken amongst the participants. In her experience, immersion is the absolute best way to learn a language.

After college, Mrs. Jones moved with her husband to Texas, where she has enjoyed sharing her love of Latin through both in person classes and online tutoring. Mrs. Jones is currently pursuing a certification in advanced Ecclesiastical Latin through the Veterum Sapientia Institute.

In her spare time, she enjoys studying bioethics, reading literature aloud with her husband, long hikes, thoughtful discussions, and poetry.
