Grade School Intermediate Latin, Part Two
- Summary
-
Join us for Part Two to prepare for future academic studies in a fun way and find the joy in learning something new!
Course description: This course continues where GS Intermediate Latin, Part One ended. Students will develop Latin speaking and reading skills, especially immersion reading, wherein what they know of the language is used to isolate and figure out what they don’t know. At the end of the semester, they will have a creative composition project, which will engage their ability to output Latin as well as input it. This course will prepare students for beginning middle school Latin with any Latin curriculum.
Instructor: Olivia Jones Course materials: Lingua Latina Book 1: Familia Romana by Hans Orberg, ISBN 13: 9781585104208. This book is used for multiple years of grade school Latin and need only be purchased once. Students may purchase a used copy through bookfinder.com.
The students will use all flashcards from GS Beginning Latin again. Please make sure you have them and remake them if you do not. A working microphone is required for this course. Starting on the first day of class, 60 blank flashcards for vocabulary words and terms must be available to the student. Some means of taking pictures of flashcards and uploading them to the course page will be required (this can be as simple as using your mobile phone).
