This in-depth study of anatomy and physiology covers lecture and dissections and further study of the systems of the human body. A special emphasis will be placed on the human identity and status of the embryo and fetus, incorporating scientifically sound pro-life apologetics.

Course Description: A continuation of part 1, this course offers an in-depth study of human anatomy and physiology, including the dissection of a fetal pig. Where appropriate, discussion of contemporary bioethical issues from the perspective of the Church’s moral magisterium will be engaged. The lab component will focus in depth on the organ systems of the body, their anatomy and physiology. These include the respiratory, lymphatic, urinary, digestive, reproductive systems, as well as embryonic and fetal development. A special emphasis will be placed on the human identity and status of the embryo and fetus, incorporating a scientifically-sound pro-life apologetics approach for students to take with them into their college and graduate-level clinical training. Anatomy and Physiology Part Two consists of lecture and dissections.

Homework
For the lecture weeks: weekly vocabulary, reading, and quizzes. Expect to spend 2-4 hours per week outside of the classroom on homework. Students are expected to read the assigned chapter(s) and write their vocabulary words to prepare for the live lecture and computer-graded weekly quizzes. For dissection weeks: Each dissection week features a different body system for dissection. After the live lab, the student will take the online computer-graded quiz.
Fees
For all 14 classes: $232 if you register on or before Nov. 15; $252 if you register after Nov. 15. (Registration closes one week before the first day of class. After that date, registrations are not guaranteed. There is a $25 surcharge for late enrollments after the course is closed.)

Victoria Cerise, BSN, lives in Cincinnati, OH with her husband. She graduated from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and worked in the Emergency Department as an RN. Now, she uses her medical knowledge to teach science to students to help them learn the beauty of God’s design in our lives. She also works as a professional Catholic wedding photographer to help show the beauty of a God-centered marriage within her work. She has been strongly involved in prolife activism since college, and continues to do activism today through her photography and prayers. When not teaching or photographing, she is typically found learning new homemaking skills in one of her favorite places ever: her log cabin home!
