Course description: This course is designed to provide a rigorous review of Algebra 1 concepts that are needed in order to be successful in Geometry and Algebra 2.  A solid conceptual understanding of Algebra 1 is essential for success in all subsequent math courses since most classes even throughout college using Algebra as a base.

1)    Evaluating Expressions and Combining Like Terms(Simplifying Expressions)

2)    Properties of Exponents

3)    Solving Linear Equations and Proportions

4)    Linear Equations (Slope, Graphing, Writing Equations of a Line)

5)    Solving Systems of Equations

6)    Solving Quadratics by Factoring

7)   Angle Relationships

8)   Pythagorean’s Theorem & Review

Materials

  • None – All material provided free by the instructor.

Homework

Each day students will be given a set of practice problems to review that day’s lesson with an answer key to self-check. There will be a short three- to four-question automated quiz for students to take each day, which is graded by the computer for immediate feedback. Homework should take approximately 20 minutes or less each day.

Fees

Fee: For all 8 classes: $122 if you register on or before April 15; $142 if you register after April 15. (Registration closes one week before the first day of class. After that date, registrations are not guaranteed. There is a $25 surcharge for late enrollments after the course is closed.)
