Summary

If you have no experience with the German language but want to be able to say a cheery guten tag! to your friends, this class is for you! By the end of the semester, you should be able to say full sentences in German and you will have a taste of German culture on the side. 

Course description: Over the next twelve weeks you will learn how to say basic facts about yourself in full German sentences; including your name, your age, favourite colour, favourite animal and more! In order to make learning fun, we will also be including some exciting songs and games so you will get a taste of German culture as well as the language. You should take this course if you have little to no experience with the German language and are eager to learn.

This is Part One of a four-course series. Register also for Part Two offered in the spring semester.

Note to Parents: Due to the young ages of grade school students, we expect that you will accompany your child at all times while he or she is online, which includes attending live classes alongside your student. This will also help you assist your student with homework where necessary or help your student contact the teacher with questions. If you miss a live class, make sure to watch the recording with your student as well. Thank you for your support!

Materials

Homework

Homework will consist of quizzes, learning vocabulary, doing workbook pages and project work. Learning a language requires time and effort; therefore, students should aim to spend 60 – 90 minutes a week doing homework and practicing their German.

Fees

For all 12 classes: $172 if you register on or before July 15; $192 if you register after July 15. (Registration closes one week before the first day of class. After that date, registrations are not guaranteed. There is a $25 surcharge for late enrollments after the course is closed.)
