Learn the foundational skills of Geometry — including two- and three-dimensional shapes, lines, rays, and figures in a plane — and use deductive and analytical reasoning, logic, and problem solving with clear illustrations of all equations. Part 1 of 2.
How to get the most out of Geometry: Seeing, Doing, Understanding (Jacob’s Geometry), Part One with Monica Breier:
First, read the course materials and "Complete before Week 1 Checklist" below before beginning week 1.
Have a notebook, compass, straightedge, and protractor ready and available for each video class.
Stay on top of assignments! Each video will begin assuming completion of the day before's task(s).
Do the assignments, quizzes, and any extra work assigned for that week.
Use the weekly checklist for the order of assignments and assessments. Make sure to check off items as you go!

Course Description: This course dives deep into logical reasoning and critical thinking through proofs and constructions. Students will develop deductive reasoning strategies to understand lines, angles, polygons, and their transformations, as well as the cognitive skills necessary for logical thinking as young adults.

Week 4: Lines and Angles
Week 5-6: Congruence
Week 7-8: Inequalities
Week 9-10: Parallel Lines
Week 11-12: Quadrilaterals
Week 13-14: Transformations

Monica Breier
Mrs. Monica Breier graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in biology, focusing on cellular and molecular genetics. She worked as a microbiologist and chemist after graduation but discovered laboratory work was not her vocation. Mrs. Breier pursued her teaching license because she had enjoyed her time as a teacher’s aide during college and loved teaching for several outdoor summer programs during and post-college.
She taught middle school science and math in Catholic schools for seven years before teaching with Homeschool Connections. Mrs. Breier is married with four children. The whole family is very active in youth ministry for the Archdiocese of Denver as well as in their parish.
