In this course, students will experience the story of our faith through Scripture. Join Mr. Egan and your fellow students and come to a new & profound understanding of God and His love for you.

  • Do the homework assigned in each Topic.

  • If you need to review, go back and watch the recording again, check your notes, and/or reread the assigned reading.

  • Once the course is completed to the parent's satisfaction, there is a Certificate of Completion at the end to be filled in for your records.

  • Make sure to record all grades. HSC does not provide record-keeping services.

Special Notes: This is Part One of a two-part course. Students are expected to sign up for Understanding the Gospels with Mr. Egan Part 2.

 Course Description: This course will cover the Big Picture of Salvation History. Following the 6 major covenants, using a combination of the Jeff Cavins Bible Timeline and John Burgsma's Bible Basics as our guide, students will go through the 14 narrative books of the Bible that tell the story.

7. United Kingdom

8. Divided Kingdom

9. Exile

10. Return

11. Maccabean Revolt

12. Jesus

13. The Church

Course Materials: Catholic Bible, preferably the RSV CE (Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition).

Daniel (Dan) Egan received his BS in Geography from Northern Kentucky University, but his true love has been teaching Scripture and Catechism in Cincinnati since 2001 to high school and grade school children. Dan loves to evangelize. He is happily married to Arica Egan and they have 7 children. He has been a student of Gary Michuta’s since 2003.
