Pack your bags and get ready to explore! This world geography course whisks students around the world in 12 exciting classes!

 

Course description: Students will travel the globe without leaving home in this engaging course! We will explore the continents, countries, and oceans while learning about the amazing cultures that Our Lord has created. Through stories, pictures, and activities, students will learn about famous landmarks, important saints, fascinating animals, and fun facts. Students will build map skills by learning to read maps and globes to locate landforms, counties, and major cities.  Along the way, students will explore traditions, foods, and holidays that shape cultures.

***Note to Parents: Due to the young ages of grade school students, we expect that you will accompany your child at all times while he or she is online, which includes attending live classes alongside your student. This will also help you assist your student with homework where necessary or help your student contact the teacher with questions. Materials

  •      World Atlas (recommended: National Geographic Kids Ultimate Globetrotting World Atlas, teacher will be using this Atlas for the course) ISBN: 9781426314889

    ·         Large blank notebook (Recommended: Canson XL Series Mixed Media Pad 9x12’’)

    ·         Drawing/painting supplies

    ·         Scissors

Homework

Students will work on their notebooks outside of class time. The teacher will provide PDF worksheets that students will need to glue into their notebooks and complete.  Students may wish to add additional illustrations, research, or facts to their notebooks, so time will vary.  Expect 3-4 worksheets/notebook entries per week to be completed.

Fees

Fee: For all 12 classes: $172 if you register on or before July 15; $192 if you register after July 15. (Registration closes one week before the first day of class. After that date, registrations are not guaranteed. There is a $25 surcharge for late enrollments after the course is closed.)

Tatiana Amorella lives in the greater Chicago area with her husband and seven sons. She was homeschooled and holds a BA in Theatre from Butler University in Indianapolis, with a special concentration in design. She went on to have an exciting career in special effects makeup, working in film and television, before taking on the most amazing career of all, homeschooling her own children and teaching other children all about the world of theater and arts!

Tatiana teaches theater design and makeup classes and workshops for many local schools and homeschool groups.

In her spare time, Tatiana enjoys reading, crafts, baking, and spending time with her friends and family.
