Human Physiology and Dignity with Lab, Part One
Recorded course taught by Kris Correira for High School Biology
Summary

This challenging, college-preparatory course focuses on human physiology in the context of human dignity as taught by the Catholic Church. Fundamentals of Catholic teaching on human dignity are taught with physiology and incorporated into case studies and labs. This course is excellent preparation for anyone interested in further pursuing education in biology, medicine, and allied health.

Course Description: Students will learn about human physiology and the Catholic idea of Human Dignity in the context of health and disease. We will meet for one 75-minute class weekly; an additional 30-50 minutes (approximately) of video lectures based on the readings are also required. The course has two one-week breaks scheduled. Class time is spent discussing the readings and video content, not lecturing, during which student participation is expected. Students will complete weekly quizzes and 2 exams. The class session during an exam week is dedicated to exam preparatory reviews. Students need to be in a distraction-free environment during all live classes and are strongly encouraged, though not required, to be on camera during discussions.
