Summary

Embark on an enriching Latin journey tailored for young Catholic learners! Building upon the foundation of GS Beginning Latin, this engaging online course nurtures students' Latin speaking and reading abilities through immersive methods and daily practice. From deciphering Latin passages independently to crafting creative compositions, students will thrive, preparing them seamlessly for the rigors of future Latin lessons.

Course Description: This course continues the fun and the skills gained in GS Beginning Latin. Students will develop more Latin speaking and reading skills but now also utilize their skills to read Latin passages independently. The pace is gentle but requires daily reading. They will practice the immersion method, using what they know of the language to isolate and figure out what they don’t know. Thus, they will gain experience in both how to learn a language and Latin at the same time. At the end of the semester, they will have a creative composition project to allow their language skills to shine in a new way. This course will prepare students for beginning middle school Latin course with any Latin curriculum.

NOTE: Students can complete Grade School Beginning Latin, Parts 1 and 2 through our Recorded Course Library to prepare for this course, but it is not required.
Instructor: Olivia Jones
