How to get the most out of Beginning Biblical Greek, Part One with Dan Egan:

  • First, read the course details below.

  • Prepare a notebook for note taking and homework.

  • Students begin the course by clicking on the first recording and watching the instructor's lecture for Class One.

  • Complete the Class One activities.

  • If you need review, go back and watch the recording again and/or go over the PowerPoint.

  • Repeat until all classes are complete.

  • Once the course is completed to the parent's satisfaction, there is a Certificate of Completion at the end to be filled in for your records. Homeschool Connections does not provide record keeping.

Course Description: This course is 100% doable, for those who are well disciplined. If you want to learn Greek, you are able -- it is possible. Mr. Egan has developed methods that make it so anyone can learn this language. In fact, he’s been teaching Biblical Greek to younger students successfully for many years. It will require that you study 10 minutes a day. THE GOAL of the course is to learn the basics of Biblical Greek in vocabulary and grammar with a focus on the vocabulary of the Bible.

Class 1 – Alphabet Part 1 (Select Bible Verses)

Class 2 – Alphabet Part 2 - Diphthongs (Select Bible Verses)

Class 3 – Alphabet Part 3 (Select Bible Verses)

Class 4 – Letters of John

Class 5 – Letters of John

Class 6 – Letters of John

Class 7 – Review

Class 8 – Gospel of John

Class 9 – Gospel of John

Class 10 – Gospel of John

Class 11 – Apocalypse

Class 12 – Apocalypse

Class 13 – Apocalypse

Course Materials: All course materials will be provided free by the instructor. Answer key included. Quizzes are automatically graded.

Homework: 10 full minutes should suffice every day. This includes reviewing old vocabulary, studying new vocabulary 3x every day, grammar review, and some translating.

Daniel (Dan) Egan received his BS in Geography from Northern Kentucky University, but his true love has been teaching Scripture and Catechism in Cincinnati since 2001 to high school and grade school children. Dan loves to evangelize. He is happily married to Arica Egan and they have 7 children. He has been a student of Gary Michuta’s since 2003.
