Review the class's PowerPoint slides before watching the recorded class meeting.
Have a notebook ready and available for class notes while watching each recording.
Watch the class's recorded class.
Do the assignments, quizzes, and any extra work assigned for that class.
Repeat the above for each class.
Once the course is completed to the parent's and professor’s satisfaction, there is a Certificate of Completion at the end to be filled in for your records.
Special Notes: All course materials are provided FREE by the instructor. This course starts before Labor Day. Includes a writing component. This is part one of a 2-part course. Students are expected to sign up for Part Two in the spring.

Course Description: This course traces the development of ancient civilizations (and peoples) in four regions of the world, tracking their emergence in prehistoric times up through their approximate entry into more common narratives of history. This includes the first and most ancient Egyptian kingdoms, China up to the Ming Dynasty, the Gupta Empire in India, and the Incan empire in South America.

Ancient Egypt
Class 2: Early, and Old Kingdoms
Class 3: Middle and Intermediate Kingdoms
Class 4: Late and New Kingdoms
Ancient India
Class 5: Through the Bronze Age
Class 6: The Iron Age in India
Class 7: The Classical Period
Ancient China
Class 8: Earliest China
Class 9: The First Dynasties
Class 10: States and Kingdoms
Class 11: The Imperial Age
Ancient America
Class 12: Migration, and North America
Class 13: Central America
Class 14: South America
Course materials: Provided FREE by the instructor.
Homework: Writing is an integral part of demonstrating both the assimilation of knowledge and the articulation thereof. Therefore, students will be guided through the process of writing a short (1-2 page, double-spaced) review of a book of their choice relevant to the subject matter.
NOTE: High School students taking this course may instead write a 3-5 page book review
Also, students will have one short (5-10 minute), ungraded review quiz per week based on classroom lectures and discussions

Christopher Martin
Dr. Martin teaches history and theology for Homeschool Connections, and serves as an Adjunct Professor of History at both Southern New Hampshire University and Antelope Valley College. He holds BA degrees in History and Theology from Christendom College (2007); an MA in History from National University (2012); and a Ph.D. in History from CGU (2018). Dr. Martin's research interests include the Lost Cause, the Federalists & Anti-Federalists, and the Impact of Wars and Depressions Upon the American Social Mind. He lives in California, with his wife and three sons.
