Bodyworks for Kids: Introduction to Our Bodies
- Catalog message
-
Includes Bioethics for Kids Ages 9-12
- Summary
-
In the Bodyworks with Bioethics for Kids series, students are introduced to anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology (when things aren’t working right) fused with some Catholic bioethics and moral theology at an appropriate age level. Each course focuses on different topics.
This course is Introduction to Our Bodies.
Course description: Kids learn about how the body works from three perspectives: basic science (anatomy and physiology), medical science (diagnosis and treatment), and Catholic bioethics (treatment rooted in human dignity). Classes consist of a lively combination of lectures, activities, worksheets, labs, games, and optional extensions in a relaxed, active learning environment. Students are not expected to have any prior knowledge or to give correct answers in class – they are encouraged to ask questions and make guesses.
This is the first and introductory course of the kids’ series that gives an overview of life and our body’s general organization.
Instructor: Kris Correira, PA-C
All class learning materials are provided. Supplies may need to be purchased for labs, which are optional.
