Summary

Instructor: Debbie Gaudino, MA

Course description: This course is the next step for students who have taken Intermediate Latin and are ready to implement their knowledge through translation. Henle Latin (Advanced) will focus on implementing both grammar and vocabulary along with mastery of translation. Students will learn about advanced grammatical concepts and gain more practice with translation. The goal of this course is to help students gradually transition from being students of grammar to becoming students of translation. Students will hone and deepen their knowledge of Latin syntax, grammar, and vocabulary. Students will discover by the end of this course that they are more confident in their translation abilities and that they will be able to identify syntax and grammar with more ease.

Debbie Gaudino graduated with a BA from Fordham University. After spending nearly a decade working in the Banking and Finance industry, Debbie and her husband Anthony made the life changing decision to homeschool their two children.

While homeschooling, Debbie received her MA in Theology and Pastoral Ministry and began to serve the Church in a variety of roles. Now a veteran homeschooling Mom (her son is a novice and seminarian in the Red Bank Oratory of St. Philip Neri and her daughter is a student at Franciscan University of Steubenville), it is a great joy for Debbie to continue to serve the homeschool community as a Latin and Theology teacher at Homeschool Connections.

Additionally, Debbie is the Director of Religious Education for the Parish of St. Thomas More in Manalapan, NJ and is blessed to be a Woman of Vallicella, which is a secular member of the Oratory of St. Philip Neri. In her free time, Debbie enjoys long walks on the Jersey Shore with her husband, visiting her native Brooklyn, NY for good Italian food and rooting for the ever losing, but always lovable New York Mets.
