Special Notes: You must be registered for Basic Chemistry Part Two (LIVE) to register for the optional lab component. Each lab will have a pre-recorded video that includes an introduction to the lab, and guidance through the lab and the lab report. NOTE: There is no live meet up time for Lab. You will have Lab access within the Basic Chemistry course itself.

Prerequisite: Registration in Basic Chemistry Part Two

Instructor: Inshal Chenet, MA

Fee: For all 7 labs and grading of lab reports: $20 if you register on or before Nov. 15; $40 if you register after Nov. 15. (Registration closes one week before the first day of class. After that date, registrations are not guaranteed. There is a $20 surcharge for late enrollments after the course is closed.)

Course Description: This adds 7 labs per semester to the Basic Chemistry Course, completing a lab requirement. The labs are all pre-recorded so that students can pause and follow along. Lab reports will be graded by the instructor. 

Course Outline

Part Two: Lab topics will include the energy output of a calorie, Reaction Rates, Solution Chemistry, and others TBD.

Course Materials

Homework: Students will complete 7 labs during each semester. Expect each lab to take about 30 minutes to complete the lab and write up the report. There will be a detailed list of needed supplies and equipment for each lab, as well as a pre-recorded example lab.

About Inshal Chenet

Inshal Chenet and his wife are both proud homeschool graduates. Mr. Chenet has lived in 18 different places around the globe since he was born in Bedford, Texas. He comes from a family of seven and his father served in the United States Air Force.

After serving a year in NET ministries, Mr. Chenet went on to attend Wyoming Catholic College and received his BA in Liberal Arts, and then received his MA in Theology from Christendom College.

He teaches Science, Theology, History, and a variety of other subjects for Homeschool Connections and other local groups, and is currently starting a boy's high school, St. Joseph the Worker Academy.

On the side, Mr. Chenet runs Cottonwood farms, a small farm community with several catholic families and many animals such as: a milk cow, pigs, maple-tapping, bees, sheep, goats, and chickens.

He is a certified COR backpacking instructor and enjoys canyoneering, caving, and camping when he can find the time for it. But most of all, Mr. Chenet loves spending time with his wife and four children and the vibrant community that they live in.
